The Godhead – The trinity

“Render unto all things to the father” (Good?),

Mark 10 :17-18

17As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

18“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.

In the Hebrew God here refers to The Father. He of course claimed He was The God of Israel; Jehovah. when He pronounced ‘I am.’

This clearly shows that in this idea of the Godhead or trinity, The Father would preside. This means there are personages. subordinate to one anouther, this idea is backed up by other verses such as Gethsemane and Christs baptism.

Reading the bible shows as such, when not coming in with misted up views from old theology that the Apostles did not believe, that the Saviour did not expound, a restoration was someday desired as the early Methodists and reformers realized.

Does not show “humanism”

Matthew 19:17

“And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”

King James Version (KJV)

What is this saying?

Well of course in the Scriptures in KJV LORD was used as a replacement for the Hebrew word Word, as they believed is was so sacred to use the personal name of The God of Israel, Jesus Christ, however God was to refer to Heavenly Father.

And of course logically why would the Saviour say Why call me Good?, Call God Good. If who he was mentioning He is not subordinate to (with agency naturally).

Matthew 19:17 Context

14But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 15And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence. 16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Not to mention The Baptism of Christ and The Atonement of Jesus Christ at Gethsemane and the Cross.

Our Article on The Priesthood & Its Restoration “Not just anyone can raise there hand and claim authority from God, it is Given by him” here … “The Saviour went to a specific person for baptism, he travelled to John as a holder of the Aaronic Priesthood”, also shown in the Old Testament.

For a deeper view on this question, topic and many questions such as “What were early Christian beliefs on the nature of God?”, The ideas of how a young uneducated man and ‘his pals’ couldn’t have developed such a idea, and the notion of witch means theres alot more to learn about the History of Church People.
